We are proud to share that FUTX has been selected for the SI-Mission-Facility (SIMF) Training and Scaling Lab Programme. This highly competitive, Horizon Europe-funded capacity-building initiative is designed for business support and social innovation organisations across Europe.
What is the Social Innovation Mission Facility?
The Social Innovation Mission Facility is a European project running from 2025 to 2029. Its primary objective is to unlock the potential of social innovation to advance five core EU Missions. These are large-scale initiatives addressing major global challenges:
- EU Mission: Cancer
- EU Mission: Adaptation to Climate Change
- EU Mission: Climate-Neutral and Smart Cities
- EU Mission: Restore our Ocean and Waters
- EU Mission: A Soil Deal for Europe
A Collaborative European Network
The programme brings together organisations from over 20 countries.
The project is coordinated by ZSI – Centre for Social Innovation based in Vienna, and implemented together with ten partners from nine EU Member States and the United Kingdom: Technical University Dortmund (TUDO), Dutch Research Institute for Transitions (DRIFT), Impact Hub, EdelGive with SIX, and Cohesion and Development Agency (AD&C) with Portugal Social Innovation (PSI).
The Impact Hub Network coordinate five mission-focused hubs across Europe:
- Impact Hub Athens — Ocean and Waters Mission
- Impact Hub Ljubljana — Cancer Mission
- Impact Hub Torino — Soil Mission
- Impact Hub Stockholm — Cities Mission
- Impact Hub Bucharest — Climate Adaptation Mission
Our Participation and Next Steps
From May to June 2026, FUTX will participate in intensive educational sessions. This initiative provides practical tools and methods to better identify, support, and scale social innovations that align with European policy priorities.
For FUTX, this cohort deepens our practical understanding of how EU Mission ambitions translate into real opportunities on the ground. We will regularly share our progress, insights, and toolkits as the programme unfolds. Follow our updates to learn more about our journey in systemic change.
